Imagine a visit to the candy shop where you can’t decide on a Saturday night treat, so you just choose one of everything you like. That is the best way to describe Sanna Hansson & The Swatchmen’s sound. The band’s pop music is coated with quirky influences such as Katzenjammer and Miss Li, cabaret classics such as Liza Minelli and bubble gum pop favourites like Alphabeat. Sanna Hansson & The Swatchmen occasionally sprinkle a little bit of rock influences on top of their music to add contrast to the eccentric sound.
When the band enters the stage, the atmosphere becomes reminiscent of one you can find in a gritty cabaret club. The stage clothes are inspired by the roaring 20’s and old-fashioned circus troops. Suspenders, feathers, fringes and tulle are all components in the clever concept. Sanna Hansson & The Swatchmen give the audience a performance they won’t soon forget!
Since the band was formed in 2015, they have played uncountable shows around Sweden, plus arranged a tour in London. Their debut EP “Bye Bye Strawberry Pie” was released in January 2017. This release was followed up by the single “Humbug”, premiered on the prestigious music blog Popmuzik in July 2017. Their first full length album "For the Cheap Seats in the Back" was released in March 2019.
